My favorite movie

My favorite movie is Hamilton: An American Musical (I’m so excited to finally say that it’s my favorite movie, musical and album, thank you Disney +). Since I was a child I’ve loved musicals and operas, so looking for a new musical to see, I discovered Hamilton and I immediately felt deeply in love.

Hamilton tells the story of one of the founding fathers of EEUU, Alexander Hamilton, and it’s the perfect mix of rap, history and performance and takeover of leitmotifs technique to give to every character and emotion a specific melody ( and for me it’s fascinating, because it occupies it in rap, which is a genre that normally doesn’t occupy melodies). I love the way in that Lin Manuel Miranda (the creator and first Alexander Hamilton) made it like a conceptual album instead like a musical, giving the chance to the people that met the musical in 2015 to listen it without the necessity of buy a ticket of the show (like I mentioned, now is a movie and you can watch it on Disney +, but in that time you could only see it on broadway). But, let’s talk about the presentation, performance and cast; everything is wonderful, completely wonderful. Hamilton is a masterpiece from the beginning at the end, that keeps you immersed in its staging full of contemporary dance, that although from the first song they are telling you the end, increases the need to know how the story goes. Like a fact, in music we are used to leitmotifs like a music score, but in this case, are words and phrases. So, in summary, it’s my favorite movie because mix everything that I like, music, performance and musical theater.

In the view of the foregoing, it’s easy to assume that my kind of movies are those that are based on musicals, like Les Miserables or the Greatest Showman (to be honest, it’s the only kind of movies that I’m actually interested in watching), so, the most recent film I’ve seen is the one mentioned above; the Greatest Showman, which is more than a musical, is certainly a film for all kinds of tastes, so I recommend it completely.
